Your fears can actually lead you to success. Fear is an intense emotion. But that doesn’t mean it has to control you, or even stop you. Fear can prepare you and push you forward just as strongly as it can hold you back. Fear heightens your awareness and increases your physical strength. Fear brings your mind to sharp focus. With all that going for you, does it make sense to just run and hide? Of course not. Fear gets you in shape to take action!
Are you waiting for things to get better before moving ahead? If you’re serious about success, you need to start taking action today. If you’re waiting for things to be perfect, you’ll wait forever and nothing will ever get done.
The way to achieve is to bloom where you’re planted, to do what you can, where you are, with what you have. It’s easy to think up excuses for not taking action. “If only I had more hours in the day. If only I had a better job. If only I could meet the right person.” But excuses won’t bring you anything of value. You’ve got to change your “if only” into an “I will.” “I will make better use of my time. I will work on improving my career. I will create and nurture my relationships.”
Take a chance. Have faith in yourself. Your circumstances will improve when you make the effort to improve them. Start where you are right now. You have everything it takes to reach for whatever you desire. Stop wishing. Use your time, your energy, your thoughts and efforts to make it happen! You’ll be glad you did!”

I came across a cool post with 15 reasons why sleep can be important. I knew some of them but there were a few that surprised me. Take a look at these, maybe a few will shock you too. I know #11 certainly applies to me…I am seriously cranky without enough sleep. I had no idea sleep had any effect on cancer but check out #9. And don’t forget, as #2 says, sleep is important when it comes to our weight. Let me know your thoughts!!

I’m going to get ready for bed. Maybe now that I am getting back on track with the exercise and my daily Vi Shakes I will get a good nights sleep again!
Ok….I have to figure out this blogging ‘thing’ and be more consistent with my posting! That is one goal.
So let me start by saying…I have seriously fallen off the workout wagon and got stuck under the back wheel. I did really good for a few weeks…but I miss one day and it’s like the end of the world. Today my kids and I did our weights and measurements for our “getting healthy” challenge. The goal for my kids (well, the goal they know about) is just to workout every day. My kids are 6, 7, and 9…so I am not into pushing weight loss goals on them but the two oldest (boys) could use a healthier body weight but that is the goal they don’t know about. If they workout consistently for two week intervals they are rewarded with an activity of their choosing. Some of the ideas I gave them are 1: go to the local beach to play and swim, 2: go to Raven Rock to follow trails and have a picnic, 3: go miniature golfing, something that keeps them active but is a bonus. Should work, right??
Now, for myself…I need to get back to consistently working out and drinking my shakes. I started The Challenge with ViSalus in March of 2010 and by September I had lost almost 50 lbs, going from a size 14 to a 2/4. I maintained that for about 2 1/2 yrs. Recently I became a bit lazy and fell back into bad habits. So today I decided that’s enough…my size 6’s are getting snug and I don’t want to go back to where I was!! I am back to two shakes a day, my metabolism boosters, and Nuero energy drink mix ins, oh and I have a few GO! shots to help me through the first few workouts.
You might be wondering what workouts we are doing, especially to keep the kids engaged. We started Hip Hop Abs. It is a great dancing workout that keeps the kids moving the whole time and even though I was sweating I made it without feeling like I was going to die.
I hope you stick with me through this process, help keep me accountable and maybe we can learn a little from each other along the way! I am researching simple and complex carbs to find the best snacks and I plan to share some great info about proteins and how they are not all created equally!! Most people see less protein and think less effective…which isn’t the case. Your body has to absorb the protein in order for you to benefit from it. Many off the shelf protein drinks are not good for you. Supplements are not regulated and can be created by anyone!! Scary, huh? What is TriSorb Protein?
When Dr. Witherly and I created the shake, we wanted to create the perfect ‘meal’ to help people build and maintain lean muscle, burn fat, and feel healthier.
The Tri-Sorb protein blend is a unique blend of highly absorbable proteins. First we use non-GMO soy that has been processed to remove isoflavones that can impact estrogen. Why soy? It is a complete protein, easily digested, and adequate consumption can help the body reduce cholesterol and c-reactive protein. Studies show that soy can build lean muscle as good, and in some studies better than whey proteins.
We then use a whey concentrate, and the newest technology in whey hydrolysate. This is the most concentrated and ‘clean’ protein on the market today, and is very expensive. The key reason is it builds lean muscle. The FDA allows it to be called a ‘fat loss accelerant’ as a result..the only protein that can use that claim. Our proteins have been specially processed to remove fat, lactose, and carbs.
We add in the Aminogen, a patented and clinically tested amino acid to aide protein absorption. Many body builders buy this product in nutrition stores to aid their body. We include it.
The key is that not all proteins are created equal. If you read the nutritional labels, some will use gelatin to ‘spike’ the grams of protein. Gelatin is great for skin and hair, but not so good at building muscle. Some use milk powder or milk protein. Great for bone health, but not so good at building lean muscle. Some use whey, which is ok, but only about 75-80% absorbed. So with ours, it’s quality, not quantity…and we absorb more because of our blend.
